Part III: Poetry Garden and Hummingbird Habitat - Sights and Sounds!

Many Poets and Artist gather their inspiration from creatures and events of nature by sailing on a lake, wandering through
a garden, paying attention to sights and sounds. . .

What a rich palette, indeed, all unto itself!

This is the last of my postings about Hummingbirds and I hope you will enjoy some of the poetry and art I found to share with you about these intriguing creatures. Perhaps you can come to visit in the Finger Lakes region soon. I would love to share the beauty of my Hummingbird Habitat with you at
1922 Starkey House Bed & Breakfast.

The Hummingbird
by Ruth White

Savoring the last
sweet bite of summer
spent trailing
the stopwatch,
succulent flowers
sip a hummingbird's
farewell dinner in flight,
so it is, I stand,
sap drawn
from aged seasons wood pile,
stalled kisses swell,
adieu,
sparkling as safely as
yesterborn Autumn's
reminiscent embers.

Beautiful Watercolors (credits given within)
