Passionate About Bicycling in the Finger Lakes by Cathy Moskal of 1922 Starkey House Bed & Breakfast

Historic New York State is full of adventure for guests who are passionate about hiking, bicycling, and boating around the Finger Lakes Region.

I hosted many guests this past season, when 1922 Starkey House along Seneca Lake, served as the perfect "home base" for bicyclists looking for the most perfect destinations. Most places to see such as waterfalls, state parks, wineries, restaurants, lakes, museums, quaint villages, etc. are possible to do in a half day or whole day excursion.

One thing about biking here is that you can take in an eclectic assortment of things to see and do all while doing what you and your group love most . . .

Start the day early with a hearty and healthy breakfast prepared fresh every morning at 1922 Starkey House Bed & Breakfast Inn.

Get your exercise and take in the fresh, country air while passing by Mennonite farms and country markets, gorgeous fresh water lakes and magnificent waterfalls.

Stop off in quaint villages for a breather and taste the local restaurant fare or sample fresh fruits and vegetables from a nearby farm stand.

At days end, have a swim when the weather permits, in the lake down at Starkey Point. Then return for a snooze or read a book out on the verandas back at the house.

Now it's time for dinner at a nearby restaurant and perhaps a sample tasting of your favorite wines along the Seneca Lake Wine Trail. So many to take in!
