Outstanding Reviews Posted by Guests at 1922 Starkey House Bed & Breakfast Inn: A Seneca Lake Bed and Breakfast Guest House

I am always excited to welcome guests to the house that come from everywhere; surrounding states, and from all over the world!

I love hosting them and observing how delighted they are with the Finger Lakes Region and all it has to offer for the perfect vacation spot.

I am proud to offer them a cozy, clean and comfortable place to call home, to kick back and relax at the end of their day.

Cooking for my guests is also one of my passions and has taught me to perfect my recipes and techniques. Although I am self-taught, my breakfasts have become one of the main reasons why former guests return! I learned that taking the time to find the best quality and most fresh ingredients is the key factor in developing great culinary tastes and flavors.

I am always humbled when I read a review as fantastic as the one published on the Trip Advisor travel site, where everyone goes these days before making a final reservation decision.

Each time I read a review like this one, I realize how much it takes to run a successful bed and breakfast like 1922 Starkey House. I am just beginning my second spring and third summer/fall seasons, only to find myself striving for higher levels of customer service and satisfaction.

My guest couple from Brooklyn, NY happened to have special food requests which I was more than happy to prepare. Great food comes from the heart and I look forward to providing anything from traditional bacon and eggs to vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free delights. All are sourced from local farms with careful attention payed to quality and freshness, and how the produce is grown. I choose organic whenever possible.

“Incredible Gluten-Free Breakfasts, Lovely Art-Deco Home, Gracious Hostess”

Great location by the beautiful lake. As some have mentioned, this one isn't right on the lake, but the view from our lovely room (Veranda Room) was great. We were there in April and it was a cold one, so hard to imagine with warm lake breezes. The fact that we enjoyed it so much despite the cool weather means anyone there in the summer will be overjoyed by the place. Cathy was wonderful and friendly--very accommodating to my gluten-free needs (she even left packaging out so I could make sure it was safe; it's those little details that make all the difference). The food was locally-sourced (as much as possible) and just incredible. Our room was very cozy and warm with a nice, private modern bathroom. Cathy was even kind enough to answer some of my questions about one day opening my own B&B.

We were there for some wine sampling and to celebrate our brand new engagement and we couldn't have been happier. My fiance opted to go for the bouquet and it was beautiful and ready in our room when we arrived. Snacks and tea/hot cocoa were available as well, upon our arrival. We plan to visit again.
