The fantastic gladiola is in full bloom here
in the upstate NY Finger Lakes Region.
Here is a beautiful majestic bouquet as it shows itself off in the dining room of 1922 Starkey House.
I can't seem to grow them very well myself but I am able to find them by the bunch at my local Mennonite friends, the Zimmerman's.
They are available in all colors and keep a long time since most of their buds are closed when you pick them. The ones pictured here lasted a full week before showing signs of wilting.
Visit www.1922starkeyhouse.com to seize your last minute stay here before the summer is over. There are some mid-week specials going on right now.
