Romantic Finger Lakes Getaway Along Seneca Lake at 1922 Starkey House.

A romantic getaway in the living room
at 1922 Starkey House Bed & Breakfast

This past weekend was the best ever with a variety of guests appearing at 1922 Starkey House Bed & Breakfast. The weather did not exactly cooperate to offer a warmed up spring-like experience and the snow gently fell as though winter would continue forever.

But a lovely couple from New York City picked a warm, cozy place to celebrate his birthday and enjoy what Finger Lakes wine country had to offer on a March weekend. It tickled me to see them thoroughly enjoy the spaces and comforts of the house and my cooking! I felt the house smiling as they relaxed in the dining room, read in the living room and enjoyed the lake views from the Catalpa Room.

Here's what they wrote in the house journal . . .

"...we had an amazing experience here at Starkey B&B. I was glad I was able to show Bo a relaxing and unique weekend for his birthday here . . . We love your cooking!"

They reported back to me that their visits to local wineries were enjoyable and that Saturday night at the Wildflower Cafe and Rooster Fish Brew Pub were especially fun and entertaining as they enjoyed the food and listened to a local bluegrass band play.

  1. So looking forward to meeting you in a couple of weeks, Cathy! My boyfriend and I are already booked for one of your lovely rooms and I'm dying to get out of crazy Manhattan for a few days!

    See you soon!
